We are currently recruiting for the following scientific positions at Neuropore Therapies:

Senior Medicinal Chemist

Neuropore Therapies, Inc. seeks an experienced, creative and highly motivated synthetic organic chemist to join our team. We are looking for an individual with an extensive background in medicinal chemistry to design and execute multi-step syntheses towards the discovery of novel clinical trial candidates. This position requires a strong bench presence. The candidate will report to the director of medicinal chemistry.

Requirements:

  • Candidate will be responsible for the rapid synthesis and purification of novel compounds
  • Proficient in the design of complex synthetic routes towards synthesis of novel chemical entities
  • Understanding of computational methods and structure based drug design as starting points for chemical strategy
  • Knowledge of chemical biology principles
  • In depth understanding of pharmacological principles as applied to drug discovery
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal as exemplified by publications in medicinal chemistry related journals, publication of patent applications and oral presentations
  • Interactions with CRO chemists, when applicable, to ensure rapid synthesis and delivery of compounds

 
Minimum qualifications:

  • PhD in organic chemistry
  • 3+ years of industrial experience in medicinal chemistry
  • Proven track record of creativity and productivity

Neuropore Therapies In Vivo Research Associate (Temporary Position)

Neuropore Therapies is seeking a highly motivated research associate with biochemistry and in vivo pharmacology expertise to support these drug-discovery and development efforts. This is a 6 month (at 50%) contract for a hands-on technical and scientific position supporting in vivo studies related to Neuropore Therapies drug discovery and development efforts. Working with minimal supervision, the person holding this position will perform all aspects of in vivo experiment-related biochemical evaluations of study samples including: specimen collection and processing, preparing samples for outsourced bioanalysis, Western blot analyses and data analysis. As needed, this person will also support in vivo pharmacology experiments including: compound solution preparation, compound administration, assisting research scientists during behavioral testing procedures. The incumbent will maintain documentation related to study execution to industry standards and will be responsible for assuring that protocols and company operating procedures are followed.

Candidates for this position will be expected to have a BS/BA degree in biochemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutical science, biology, neuroscience, or related discipline along with a minimum of 1-2 years relevant laboratory experience.

Additional technical experience requirements for this position include:

  • Direct hands on experience working with rodent models (mice or rats) is required (within the past 12 months).
  • A demonstrated ability to administer test article via IP, SC, IV or PO routes to rodents and the ability to collect blood and tissue samples is required.
  • Candidates with experience conducting behavioral studies (motor and/or cognition) in animal models commonly used for CNS drug-discovery research are highly preferred.
